Ensuring safety for tourists before storm No. 1

On July 16, 2023, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City issued Document 1690/UBND-TL directing and requesting the city's departments, branches, and People's Committees of districts to strictly implement Official Dispatch No. 53 dated July 15, 2023 of the City's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense to proactively respond to storm No. 1 (storm Talim).

Accordingly, the Hai Phong City government requested the People's Committees of Do Son and Cat Hai districts to review, compile statistics, and prepare plans to ensure safety for tourists at coastal and island tourist areas. At the same time, prepare plans to handle landslides on coastal and mountain roads at risk of landslides.

Implementing the direction of the People's Committee of Hai Phong City, the authorities of Cat Hai District and Do Son District - two key areas of sea and island tourism in Hai Phong City, are actively implementing plans to ensure safety for tourists and vessels serving tourism.

In particular, the Cat Hai district government has announced the temporary suspension of sightseeing activities on bays in Cat Ba archipelago and beaches in the district from 12:00 on July 17, 2023. At the same time, moving service rafts at Ben Beo and tourist boats to safe shelters, moving tourists on bays and islands to the central areas of Cat Ba town for safe shelters, to be completed before 12:00 on July 17, 2023.
