(BGĐT) - Driving at excessive speeds and losing control of the vehicle are among the direct causes of traffic accidents. Therefore, the traffic police force throughout Bac Giang province has implemented a special campaign focusing on strictly handling speeding violations.
During a short shift on Provincial Road 295B, bordering Viet Yen District and Bac Giang City, the traffic police team (Provincial Police) detected numerous speeding violations in densely populated areas. Mr. D.VK from Tan My Commune (Bac Giang City), driving a car with license plate 98A-365.32, violated the speed limit (62/50 km/h) and was subsequently fined.
Officers from the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police are using specialized equipment to inspect and detect vehicles violating speed limits on Provincial Road 295B. |
Mr. K explained: "Because I was in a hurry, I exceeded the speed limit. When the traffic police officer pointed out my mistake, with full photographic evidence, I realized my error and signed the report, considering it a lesson to learn from and not violate the rules again."
Earlier, the task force spotted a foreign man driving a car with license plate 89A-254.16 exceeding the speed limit of 67/50 km/h. When stopped, he was unable to present a driver's license. To prevent further violations, the task force explained Vietnamese laws and regulations and impounded the vehicle.
Captain Nguyen Van Hung, Deputy Team Leader of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1, Traffic Police Department (Provincial Police), said that this area has a high density of vehicles, with houses and markets densely packed on both sides of the road, yet many car and motorbike drivers still speed, endangering themselves and others. Therefore, the task force is regularly present, using specialized equipment to detect and handle violations, thereby reducing traffic accidents on the road.
In the first six months of the year, traffic police forces throughout the province detected and handled nearly 24,000 violations, including over 5,500 cases of speeding violations. Along with increased patrols and enforcement, the unit coordinated with relevant agencies, districts, and cities to promote awareness and improve compliance among road users. |
According to statistics, from the beginning of the year until now, the province has experienced 113 traffic accidents, resulting in 56 deaths and 73 injuries, including 7 accidents caused by failure to comply with speed regulations. Many people living on Tran Quang Khai Street, Tho Xuong Ward (Bac Giang City) surely haven't forgotten the tragic accident caused by a motorbike traveling at high speed.
Accordingly, at approximately 2:27 PM on January 2, 2023, on Tran Quang Khai street, at the intersection with the side road crossing near Nam Hong Primary School, NAT (born in 2006) from Group 6, Nham Bien town (Yen Dung district) was driving a motorbike with license plate 98B2-113.24. Due to excessive speed, he collided with a motorbike with license plate 98F6-5704 driven by Ms. PTQ (born in 1965) from Cao Ky Van street (Bac Giang city).
Subsequently, T's motorbike collided with a parked truck with license plate 98C-201.39, driven by Mr. NVT (born in 1987) from Xuan Huong commune (Lang Giang district). The accident happened very quickly, and by the time people took T to the hospital for emergency treatment, it was too late; T died shortly afterward.
Driving at excessive speeds is one of the direct causes of accidents. When traveling at high speeds, drivers have difficulty observing obstacles on the road and cannot anticipate unexpected situations. If faced with a sudden situation, drivers do not have enough time to react safely. Therefore, patrolling and monitoring to detect and promptly address speeding violations is essential to reduce traffic accidents.
In the first six months of the year, traffic police detected and handled nearly 24,000 violations, including over 5,500 cases of speeding violations. Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Quang Tuan, Head of the Traffic Police Department, informed that in the coming time, traffic police will continue to strengthen the handling of speeding violations and maintain regular and continuous enforcement.
The unit deployed a comprehensive patrol and control force, mobilizing maximum resources and technical equipment to carry out its duties, paying attention to time frames and routes where violations frequently occur. In addition to direct patrols and enforcement on the roads, patrol teams also conducted covert operations to record and issue fines to speeding offenders, with the motto "No forbidden zones, no exceptions."
Along with increased patrols and enforcement, the unit coordinates with relevant agencies, districts, and cities to promote awareness and compliance among traffic participants. During implementation, the content and methods of disseminating and educating the public about traffic laws are innovated to be easy to understand, easy to absorb, and suitable for each area, locality, and age group, especially teenagers, students, and young people... under the theme "Respecting the law to build a safe traffic culture".
