(Dan Tri) - The security team leader at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, along with his deputy team members and members, received money from businesses to "protect" overloaded vehicles from running during prohibited hours.
On March 17, the Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police (PC03) prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Giang Son (Captain of the security team at the High-Tech Park), Ho Tan Dat, Nguyen Thanh Bach Ho (both deputy captains), Tran Phat Vinh Thanh, Le Hieu Tai, Ho Ngoc Anh Tien, Nguyen Huu Khu, Doan Ngoc Thinh, Vuong Minh Thai, Nguyen Tan Thanh, Luong Van Phuoc, and Le Van Duong for the crime of Abusing position and power while performing official duties.

According to initial information, the route through the High-Tech Park, Thu Duc City, from the Hanoi Highway gate (D1) and the opposite direction from the Vo Chi Cong gate (D2) is managed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport (now the Department of Public Works and Transport). The Department of Transport installed signs prohibiting trucks over 3.5 tons (vehicles not serving in the High-Tech Park) from circulating through the High-Tech Park during the hours of 6am-10pm.
However, since the beginning of 2020, Nguyen Giang Son has received money from businesses with trucks over 3.5 tons and allowed these types of cars to circulate through the High-Tech Park during prohibited hours.
Every month, Son collects about 30 million VND from each enterprise and discusses with the 2 deputy team leaders to inform the 9 team leaders and deputy team leaders of the security team. Next, Dat sends a list of trucks from the above enterprises via Zalo group so that the security guards of the High-Tech Park can know. When the trucks arrive at the checkpoint, the security guards check the list, and if the trucks have "paid off", they let it go.
Every month, Son gives Dat about 10 million VND, Ho gets 3-5 million VND, the security guards and team leaders and deputy team leaders get from 100,000 VND to 3 million VND.
The Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department requests businesses and drivers involved in the above incident to urgently contact investigator Tran Manh Tuan, Team 4, Department PC03, to work and provide documents.
