Forbes magazine (USA) suggests that the Vietnamese women's national team is fully capable of achieving a historic victory at the World Cup in their match against Portugal.

Ahead of the 2023 Women's World Cup, Forbes magazine published an assessment of the four teams in Group E: the USA, the Netherlands, Vietnam, and Portugal. In this assessment, Forbes did not underestimate the Vietnamese women's team, despite their first-ever World Cup appearance.
Commenting on coach Mai Duc Chung's team, Forbes remarked: "In their first ever World Cup appearance, the Vietnamese women's national team has been drawn into a difficult group."
This team's chances of getting through the group stage are almost impossible. They need to focus on performing well.
The Vietnamese women's team alternates between formations with 4 or 5 defenders. But regardless of the formation, they tend to approach the game defensively.
They will certainly have to play a 'do-or-die' defensive game at the 2023 World Cup, especially when facing strong opponents like the USA and the Netherlands.
Ahead of the 2023 World Cup, the Vietnamese women's national team played several friendly matches quite well. However, in their final friendly match before the tournament, they conceded 9 goals to Spain.
The head coach of the Vietnamese women's national team, Mai Duc Chung, is quite an interesting figure. He has led generations of the Vietnamese women's national team over the years. At the age of 70, he led the team to their first-ever World Cup appearance.
Coach Mai Duc Chung has repeatedly expressed his desire to retire from the Vietnamese women's national team, but due to the lack of a suitable replacement, he has remained in charge to this day.
Huynh Nhu is the most notable female player in the Vietnamese women's national team. She is currently the team's all-time leading scorer with 64 goals.
However, one goal at the World Cup means more than all of Huỳnh Như's other goals combined. Huỳnh Như's experience playing in Europe is an invaluable asset for the Vietnamese women's national team in their first appearance at the 2023 World Cup."
Forbes hopes the Vietnamese women's team can achieve a historic score at the World Cup. They further commented: "It's highly likely the Vietnamese women's team will lose to the USA in their opening match. But they certainly don't want to lose heavily as it would demoralize them."
However, the match against Portugal presents an opportunity for the Vietnamese women's team to make history. They are capable of scoring their first goal, earning their first point, or even securing their first victory in the World Cup."
The Vietnamese women's national team will begin their 2023 World Cup campaign when they face the USA at 8:00 AM on July 22nd.
