Vietnam has four swimmers competing in the qualifying rounds of two events this morning: Pham Thi Van and Nguyen Thuy Hien (women's 100m freestyle) and Vo Thi My Tien and Nguyen Kha Nhi (women's 400m freestyle).

As a result, Vietnamese swimmers all performed well and qualified for the finals in the events they participated in.
Accordingly, in the women's 100m freestyle event, Thúy Hiền achieved a time of 57.40 seconds, ranking third in her heat, while Phạm Thị Vân achieved 57.45 seconds, ranking fourth.

In the women's 400m freestyle, Vo Thi My Tien (4 minutes 28 seconds 03) and Nguyen Kha Nhi (4 minutes 29 seconds 86) finished first and second respectively in their heats, thus qualifying for the final.
In the finals taking place at 6:00 PM this evening, in addition to the women's events, Vietnamese swimmers will be hoping to win gold medals in the men's events.

The men's 1,500m freestyle athletes Nguyen Huy Hoang and Mai Tran Tuan Anh, and the men's 400m individual medley athletes Tran Hung Nguyen and Nguyen Quang Thuan, did not compete in the qualifying rounds; they will focus on competing in the finals this afternoon.
The highest expectations are placed on Huy Hoang, as he will compete in his strongest event, the 1,500m freestyle, and defend his title in this event.

Meanwhile, in the men's 400m individual medley, Tran Hung Nguyen and Nguyen Quang Thuan are expected to defend the gold and silver medals they won at the 2023 SEA Games.
Hung Nguyen is having a very successful SEA Games 33, having won two gold medals in the men's 200m individual medley and 4x200m relay.
As of December 12th, Vietnamese swimming had won 8 medals at the 33rd SEA Games, including 3 gold medals.
