Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper presents maps to wards and communes in Ho Chi Minh City

On the afternoon of July 7, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper (SGGP) presented the Map of Vietnam's Provincial Administrative Units and the Map of Ho Chi Minh City's Commune-Level Administrative Units in 2025 to 168 wards, communes, and special zones in Ho Chi Minh City, phase 1.

The donation ceremony took place at the headquarters of SGGP Newspaper (432-434 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Ban Co Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), with the participation of leaders and representatives from nearly 60 wards and communes in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the handover ceremony, the Editorial Board of SGGP Newspaper presented administrative maps of Ho Chi Minh City at the provincial and commune levels to wards and communes for display at their offices.

SGGP newspaper also plans to continue distributing maps to all communes, wards, and special zones throughout Ho Chi Minh City.

The printing and distribution of maps is an initiative of the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, aimed at helping readers access and visualize in more detail the merger of provinces and cities nationwide, as well as the reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Ho Chi Minh City. Specifically, the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper collaborated with the Center for Geographic Spatial Data Infrastructure (Vietnam Surveying, Mapping and Geographic Information Agency) to print and distribute provincial and commune-level administrative maps of Ho Chi Minh City to its readers.

At the award ceremony, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper, Nguyen Khac Van, shared that as an organ of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the voice of the Party Committee, the Government, and the people of Ho Chi Minh City, SGGP Newspaper always wishes to contribute to creating stability, working together with localities and the city to best serve the people, ensuring the interests of the people, as well as strengthening connections and exchanges with the 168 wards and special zones of Ho Chi Minh City.

Expressing his gratitude to the leaders and representatives of the wards and communes who came to the SGGP Newspaper, journalist Nguyen Khac Van hoped that the gift would be meaningful to the localities, especially in the early days when Ho Chi Minh City, along with the rest of the country, is implementing the reorganization of administrative units.

On the other hand, with 34 provinces and cities across the country operating under a new administrative system with the spirit of "reorganizing the nation," journalist Nguyen Khac Van believes that the gift of maps adds further significance to this important period.

Journalist Nguyen Khac Van also expressed his hope that the wards would continue to support the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper in disseminating information and propaganda; and cooperate in participating in social charity activities and important events in the area, contributing to making various aspects of social life in Ho Chi Minh City more vibrant.

Previously, as soon as the National Assembly approved the resolution on the reorganization of provincial-level administrative units in 2025, SGGP Newspaper printed 50,200 copies of the Provincial Administrative Map to give to readers. And on the day the new administrative units officially began operating (July 1st), SGGP Newspaper continued to cooperate in printing and sending to readers copies of the Commune-level Administrative Map of Ho Chi Minh City.

The presentation of maps of provincial-level administrative units of Vietnam and maps of commune-level administrative units of Ho Chi Minh City to 168 wards, communes, and special zones in Ho Chi Minh City on July 7th marked the beginning of a series of map donation activities to 34 provinces, cities, and communes, wards, and special zones nationwide.
