Bao Thang: Dismantling a case, arresting a prostitution broker

On May 12th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Bao Thang District Police initiated a case and indicted Ly Van Linh (born in 1990, residing in Nhai Ten village, Kim Son commune, Bao Yen district) for the act of "brokering prostitution".

Previously, from the end of April to the beginning of May 2023, the criminal investigation force of Bao Thang District Police discovered a prostitution ring operating in Bao Thang District. The Bao Thang District Police leadership directed the criminal police force to establish a special case, code-named 686T, and requested a swift investigation, dismantling the ring, and arresting the individuals involved.

At approximately 9:30 PM on May 6, 2023, reconnaissance forces discovered the suspect transporting prostitutes to clients at the Manh Quyen guesthouse in Khe Den village, Son Ha commune. The special task force dispatched three teams of investigators for a surprise raid, conducting a search and catching two couples in the act of prostitution in rooms 102 and 201 of the Manh Quyen guesthouse. They seized numerous related items and documents. During questioning, the suspects confessed that Ly Van Linh (born in 1990) had directly acted as a pimp, facilitating the prostitution transactions between them.

The investigation team summoned Ly Van Linh for questioning. Based on the evidence collected, Linh admitted to his criminal actions at the police station.

The Police Investigation Agency has issued a decision to temporarily detain Ly Van Linh on criminal charges.
