Young Pioneer and Children Newspaper launches 2023 Primary School Basketball Tournament

The tournament is held annually by the Young Pioneer and Children Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Basketball Federation, with the support of Nestlé Milo Vietnam and Dong Luc Joint Stock Company.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, journalist Phan Viet Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Young Pioneers and Children Newspaper, Deputy Head of the tournament organizing committee, said that the organizing committee encourages children to participate in sports to develop their physical strength, train their will, spirit and personal discipline. Thereby, finding young talents for the country's basketball.

According to the tournament regulations, primary school students in Hanoi born between 2013 and 2015 can register to participate if they wish. Each team consists of 12 members, including 1 team leader, 1 coach and 10 athletes.

The draw and match schedule is scheduled for October 27. Qualifying matches will take place on Saturdays and Sundays (November 4, 5, 11, 12).

Group I qualifying round will take place at Ngo Quyen Primary School - Hai Ba Trung district; Group II at Archimedes Academy Primary School - Cau Giay district; Group III at Newton Goldmark Primary School - Bac Tu Liem district; Group IV at Genesis Primary School - Nam Tu Liem district.

The final round, closing ceremony and award ceremony are scheduled to be held on November 25 and 26 at Vinschool Times City Primary School - Hai Ba Trung District.
