In keeping with the nationwide atmosphere, on the morning of September 5th, Cao Thang Technical College (Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) held its opening ceremony for the 2025-2026 academic year. This also marks the first time that all educational institutions across the country will simultaneously raise the flag and sing the national anthem during the opening ceremony of the new academic year.
The school is nearly 120 years old.
Dr. Le Dinh Kha, the school's principal, said that this is not only a celebration for teachers and students but also an opportunity for everyone to look back on historical milestones: the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the National Ministry of Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training ). This is also a moment to mark the journey of striving to achieve accomplishments to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Cao Thang Technical College.

Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, highly appreciated the school's efforts in training human resources. Cao Thang Technical College is a prestigious and reputable vocational training institution in the network of colleges in Vietnam.
With a training scale of over 10,000 students in the field of engineering and technology according to the quality standards of ABET USA and KOSEN Japan, the school meets the demand for high-quality, international-standard human resources for Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces and cities.

Entering the new school year 2025-2026 with many strong innovation requirements, Ms. Thang requested the school's leadership and teaching staff to closely follow and concretize the Party's policies, especially Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
Among these, several key tasks stand out: Continuing to innovate training programs and teaching methods towards emphasizing practical application and developing students' qualities and competencies; improving the quality of teachers and education management staff, considering this a crucial and breakthrough step; promoting digital transformation in education, building a modern and creative learning environment...

At the opening ceremony, a representative of Intel Group said that it will continue to accompany the school in sponsoring the training program on "Artificial Intelligence for the future workforce".
Mr. Aru David, Regional Director of the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), representing the GE Vernova Foundation, presented a symbolic check to the school. This donation includes modern equipment for training in wind power, a rapidly developing field in Vietnam.
In addition, the school has received practical support and assistance from businesses, especially in the semiconductor technology sector.
The opening ceremony was attended by many foreign partners and businesses.
The school has a long history
On February 20, 1906, the Asian School of Mechanics (commonly known as the School of Arts and Crafts), the predecessor of today's Cao Thang Technical College, was established.
The school has the honor of being the place where the patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh studied in 1911 before leaving Nha Rong port to board a ship to seek a way to save the country. This is also where President Ton Duc Thang studied from 1915 to 1917.
