On June 28, the Long Thanh District Police ( Dong Nai province ) issued a decision to temporarily detain Bui Duc Hien (born in 1996, residing in Cam Duong commune, Long Thanh district) for investigation into the crime of "extortion".

According to initial information, in the early morning of June 25th, Hien was driving a motorbike with license plate 59F1-795.71 on provincial road 769 when he saw a person not wearing a helmet and appearing intoxicated. At this time, Hien stopped the vehicle and identified himself as a police officer, demanding that the offender present his documents.
Seeing Hien wearing a police uniform, Mr. NCT (a resident of Long Thanh district) believed the suspect. However, Mr. T. could not produce any identification, so Hien demanded money to overlook the violation. Fearing for his safety, Mr. T. gave Hien 200,000 VND.
At that moment, the police force of Loc An commune, Long Thanh district, patrolling the area, discovered the incident and immediately detained the suspect, taking him to the station to clarify the matter.

At the police station, Hien confessed that because she lacked money, she came up with the idea of impersonating a police officer to check vehicle documents and intimidate road users in order to steal their property.
The case is being further investigated and will be handled strictly by the police in accordance with the law.
