Le Thi Mong Tuyen's breathtaking and brilliant final shot secured the first gold medal for the Vietnamese shooting team at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

Entering the final of the 10m air rifle mixed event, two Vietnamese shooters, Mong Tuyen and Tam Quang, are expected to win the first gold medal for the Vietnamese shooting team at the SEA Games 33.

"I am very happy and delighted to bring home the first gold medal for the Vietnamese shooting team, contributing to the overall achievement of the Vietnamese sports delegation. There were times when I was very nervous and anxious, but then, hearing the cheers from the stands with the shouts of 'Vietnam,' knowing that the coaches, teammates, and fans have faith in us, I had to try my best, make the most accurate shots, and achieve the best score," Mong Tuyen shared.

"There was pressure carrying the responsibility of bringing home the first gold medal for the Vietnamese shooting team in the final shot. I tried to stay calm, adjust my mood, and was determined to win. At this SEA Games, I also learned a lot of experience, had a better mindset, and prepared more thoroughly than at the previous SEA Games," said the shooter born in 2004.

This is Mong Tuyen's first SEA Games gold medal.

The two Vietnamese shooters were overjoyed on the podium receiving their awards.
