Dengue fever patients continue to increase

Specifically, during the week, the city recorded 84 cases of dengue fever, an increase of 11 cases compared to the previous week (73/0); patients were distributed in 20 districts, of which the majority were in Dan Phuong district (41 cases). Since the beginning of 2024, Hanoi has recorded 940 cases, an increase compared to the same period in 2023 (595/0).

During the week, the city recorded 3 new dengue fever outbreaks in Dan Phuong (2) and Bac Tu Liem (1).

Accumulated in 2024, the city recorded 17 outbreaks, currently 6 outbreaks are still active, of which 4 outbreaks are in Dan Phuong including: Bai Thap and Dong Van in Dong Thap commune; Phuong Mac village, Phuong Dinh commune; village 3, Thuong Mo commune; 1 outbreak in Trung Liet ward, Dong Da and 1 outbreak in Thuy Phuong ward, Bac Tu Liem.

Hanoi CDC has organized monitoring of 2 active outbreaks in Dong Da and Dan Phuong. At the same time, coordinated with units to organize monitoring at 08 old dengue outbreaks in 2023 including: Yen Nghia - Ha Dong; Quang Trung - Phu Xuyen; Dong Xuan - Hoan Kiem; Tien Phuong - Chuong My, the results of 4/8 outbreaks have indexes exceeding the risk threshold.

Hanoi CDC said that the current hot and rainy weather conditions are very favorable for the development of mosquitoes and disease-carrying larvae. The number of cases this week increased by 11 cases compared to last week. This is the 5th consecutive week with an increase in cases.

In recent times, localities have organized 44 environmental sanitation campaigns, checking and preventing epidemics in more than 120,331 households and 1,779 other areas (schools, public areas, etc.); handling 23,743 water containers with mosquito larvae.

Currently, the health sector continues to proactively monitor the index of larvae and mosquitoes transmitting dengue fever in areas with cases, outbreaks, and high-risk areas. In addition, medical quarantine work at Noi Bai International Airport is strengthened to detect early cases of infection/suspected infection in order to take timely epidemic prevention measures.
