Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital successfully transplanted a kidney from mother to child

Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital (Hai Phong) has just successfully performed a kidney transplant of the same bloodline for a patient with end-stage chronic kidney failure, the 8th successful kidney transplant.

The surgery was performed by the surgical team of Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, with professional support from experts of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.

Accordingly, the kidney recipient is a 27-year-old male residing in Nam Trieu ward ( Hai Phong ), the kidney donor is his biological mother. After completing in-depth tests and legal procedures as prescribed, the doctors performed the kidney transplant surgery.

The surgery was performed by the surgical team of Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital with professional support from experts from Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. Thanks to the experience accumulated from previous transplants, along with the smooth coordination between the specialties, the 5-hour surgery was successful, bringing great joy to the patient's family and the medical team.

After the transplant, the patient was alert, responsive, and had stable vital signs. Test results showed that kidney function had improved significantly, with creatinine and blood urea levels within acceptable limits.

Currently, both the kidney donor and recipient are in stable post-operative condition and are continuing to be monitored and given special care in the post-transplant treatment area, ensuring the safest and most effective recovery process.
