This year's September 2nd holiday lasts for four days. Despite the hot weather, the Sam Son beach resort in Thanh Hoa province saw sparse crowds on the first day, a stark contrast to the first day of the recent April 30th and May 1st holidays (right photo).
According to information from the Sam Son City Department of Culture and Information, the number of visitors on the first day of the holiday was not high. The entire city has more than 700 accommodation establishments with 15,000 rooms, but the number of bookings only accounted for 10-15%.
"On the first day of the holiday, Sam Son was relatively empty. It's possible that the number of visitors will be higher tomorrow (September 1st)," a representative from the Sam Son City Department of Culture and Information stated.

At the center of beach B, tourists could enjoy swimming in the sea because the number of people flocking there on the first day of the holiday was less than in previous years.

The beach is sparsely populated with stalls selling soft drinks and toys.

Because there were few people swimming on the beach, the two children and their mother were able to freely play and cool off in the sea.

A group of tourists organized a fun activity, dancing folk dances on the beach.

The sandy beach at Sam Son is not very crowded with people.

At the rocky area behind the Doc Cuoc Temple, some young people gathered to take photos and enjoy the cool breeze.

Gone are the days of heavy summer crowds; on the first day of the September 2nd holiday, Ho Xuan Huong street was deserted, with few people and vehicles. Even electric carts were struggling to find passengers.
Ms. Tuyet, an electric vehicle driver, said that this was only the first day of the holiday, and people were probably returning to their hometowns to visit family, so the number of customers wasn't large. "It's very likely that tomorrow (September 1st) will be much busier," Ms. Tuyet said.

One parking spot at lot A still has plenty of empty spaces.

Towards the end of the afternoon, the number of visitors to the beach increased somewhat, but there was no crowding or congestion.
