Images of three new Mazda SUVs – the next-generation CX-5, CX-60, and CX-90 – appearing in an unfinished showroom are attracting attention on social media. This marks the first time all three models have appeared in Vietnam together, although previously only the CX-60 was brought in for internal testing. Mazda Vietnam has not yet released any official information regarding the introduction of the trio of SUVs. However, the expected opening date of the company's new generation showroom on December 11th has led many to believe that this will be the occasion for Mazda to unveil the new SUV models.
The simultaneous launch of three SUV models from three different segments has fueled expectations that Mazda is preparing a major overhaul of its product range, especially given its direct competition in the urban SUV, 5-seater SUV, and large 7-seater SUV segments. New Mazda CX-5 2026 In its new generation, the 2026 Mazda CX-5 features a completely redesigned exterior. The most significant changes are to the front end, with a unibody grille and slim LED headlights creating a more robust and sporty look than the current generation. The sharper lines give the CX-5 a more powerful appearance. The interior has undergone a significant transformation towards a minimalist yet modern design. A 10.25-inch digital instrument panel is combined with a large, floating central display screen. With this new design, the CX-5 offers a more premium experience than before, a departure from the traditional, utilitarian style of the previous generation. In terms of performance, the car uses a 2.5L mild-hybrid e-SKYACTIV G engine. All-wheel drive (AWD) may be available on the higher-end version if Mazda decides to fully launch it in Vietnam. The i-Activsense safety package will likely still be included, with features such as automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, etc.
Mazda CX-60 The Mazda CX-60 boasts larger dimensions than the CX-5 and a design style that leans towards European SUVs, creating a sense of solidity and premium quality. The interior features high-quality materials, body-hugging seats, a large central screen, and a streamlined control area. In real-world testing, the new Mazda CX-60 SUV feels comparable to a luxury vehicle in its price range, particularly in terms of build quality, surface sturdiness, and seating comfort. In the Southeast Asian market, the CX-60 is available with a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine or a mild-hybrid version. The chassis platform, which allows for the installation of an I6 engine in higher-end markets, suggests that the CX-60 is positioned in the upper segment, although the configuration available in Vietnam is not yet clear. In terms of safety, Mazda provides the CX-60 with a range of advanced driver assistance technologies.
Mazda CX-90 The CX-90 is the largest model in the trio of new Mazda vehicles unveiled in Vietnam. Its imposing exterior, with its superior dimensions, horizontally-swept LED taillights, and large body, creates a luxurious feel. The CX-90 is designed as a true flagship SUV and is currently a representative model for the product range in many markets. The interior, with 6-7 seats, is styled like a luxury SUV with premium materials. In terms of performance, the 2025 CX-90 uses a 3.3L turbocharged I6 engine, paired with AWD and an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering 280-340 horsepower depending on the version. A plug-in hybrid configuration is considered a highly fuel-efficient option, although it is unclear whether it will be available in Vietnam. Safety features include brake assist, parking sensors, and a rearview camera as part of the i-Activsense package. With this configuration, the CX-90 will directly compete with the Ford Explorer, Hyundai Palisade, and several other premium 7-seater SUVs if it goes on sale.
