In the context of deep international integration, textile and footwear businesses need to improve quality and expand cooperation opportunities to increase the value of their supply chains.
On the afternoon of December 4th, in Ho Chi Minh City, the "Workshop on Connecting Textile, Garment and Footwear Businesses" was held, organized by the Southern Industrial Development Technical Support Center (IDCS) - Department of Industry ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) in coordination with relevant units.

This workshop is part of the program to advise and support businesses in the textile, garment, and footwear industries to participate in domestic and international production supply chains in 2024.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Xuan Tho, Acting Director of the Southern Region Industrial Development Support Technical Center, Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade), emphasized: The textile and garment and footwear industries are two important economic sectors, not only contributing significantly to national export turnover but also creating millions of jobs for workers, contributing to the stability and socio-economic development.
However, in the context of deep international integration and increasingly demanding market requirements, businesses in the industry need to seek solutions to improve quality, increase the value of the supply chain, and expand cooperation opportunities.

“The workshop aims to create strong momentum for the sustainable development of the textile and footwear industries, as well as raise awareness of the dual transformation – combining digital transformation and green transformation. It also serves as an important bridge to help domestic and international businesses establish sustainable cooperative relationships, optimize supply chains, and increase product value,” Mr. Le Xuan Tho stated.

Experts from the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology also shared information on new technologies in the textile industry. They also shared the latest information and trends, and promoted products from businesses in the textile and footwear sectors.

The workshop also received many questions from business representatives about dual transformation, how to participate in and connect to the supply chain, etc., during the panel discussion. Representatives from IDCS, the Ho Chi Minh City Textile, Garment and Embroidery Association, and experts and speakers shared their insights and answered each business's questions.
