According to information from the Ministryof Education and Training, over 1.12 million candidates took the Math exam, of which 513 candidates scored 10. Meanwhile, in 2024, the number of 10 scores was 0. In 2023, there were only over 200 10 scores. Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, and Hung Yen are the localities with many 10 scores.
Literature scores are relatively stable, but there are no 10s (in 2024 there were 2 10s).
The average score for physics is 6.99 points. There are over 3,900 exams with a score of 10. Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Nghe An, Hai Phong... are the localities with many 10 points in physics.
Chemistry, the average score is 6.06, including 610 scores of 10. Compared to 2024, the chemistry score has decreased slightly. Ha Tinh, Hue, Hanoi, Ninh Binh... are localities with many scores of 10 in chemistry.
Biology, the score range is wider, the average score is 5.78 points, there are 82 candidates with 10 points. Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City... have many 10 points in Biology.
The average score for computer science is 6.78. This is the first year this is a high school graduation exam but the score is not too low. There are 60 candidates who scored 10. Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa... have many high scores in computer science.
In previous years, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the score distribution after candidates knew their high school graduation exam scores. This year, the score distribution was announced one day before the exam results.
According to Mr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), this change is to help society understand the exam more fully. The Ministry of Education and Training's viewpoint in renewing the exam is to be steadfast in the spirit of innovation, in line with the goals of the 2018 general education program.
According to the plan, at the information conference on score distribution organized by the Ministry of Education and Training this afternoon, July 15, there will be experts directly analyzing test score data and building score distribution. The experts will also discuss and answer questions from the press.
The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first exam for students studying the 2018 general education program. However, to facilitate candidates studying the old program who have not graduated from high school or have graduated but take the exam to use the results for university admission, the Ministry of Education and Training organizes the exam for both subjects studying the two programs, with two different sets of exam questions and different exam methods.
Candidates studying the 2006 program who have not yet graduated from high school will take 4 exams including math, literature, English and 1 of 2 combined exams: natural sciences (including physics, chemistry, biology) and social sciences (including history, geography, civics). Candidates taking the 2018 program will take 4 exams including math, literature and 2 elective exams from physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, history, geography, economics and law, and foreign languages.
The number of exam questions for the 2025 exam is very large, and the organization of the exam at all stages is much more complicated than in previous years. However, the progress of completing the exam marking and announcing the exam scores has been carried out on schedule.
Of the more than 1,160,000 candidates taking the exam, over 96% studied the 2018 general education program and only over 2.2% studied the 2006 general education program.
