On August 16th, according to a press release from the Central Party Office, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam met to consider and give opinions on personnel matters as follows:
The Central Committee of the Party has decided to nominate personnel and provide input for the Politburo to nominate personnel to complete the leadership of a number of state agencies for the 2021-2026 term, in accordance with regulations.
The Central Committee of the Party elected General Luong Tam Quang – a member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Public Security Ministry, and Minister of Public Security – as an additional member of the Politburo .
Following the by-election for Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang, the 13th Politburo now comprises 15 members. Specifically, they include:
– General Secretary and President To Lam.
– Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
– Speaker of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man.
– Standing Committee member of the Party Central Committee, Luong Cuong.
– Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Nguyen Van Nen.
– Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Đình Trạc.
– Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee Tran Cam Tu.
– Minister of Defense Phan Van Giang.
– Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh.
– Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang.
– Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Le Minh Hung.
– Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia.
– Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee.
– Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Do Van Chien.
– Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang.
