The poetry collection Four Seasons of Flying Flags, written by her after a trip to Truong Sa in 2024, begins with the poem Khuc Quan March Anh Hat , which she wrote right in Truong Sa, on a ship with rolling waves, in an office of the officers on board. The book has just been published by the Writers Association Publishing House and Nha Nam.
Special itinerary to Truong Sa
Four Seasons of Flying Flags takes readers on a special journey to Truong Sa - where small classrooms resound with the sound of reading, where childhood blossoms amidst the storms, where the red flag with a yellow star flutters, depicting the shape of the country.

Sharing with Tuoi Tre, critic Mai Anh Tuan ( Hanoi University of Culture) said the poetry collection Four Seasons of Flying Flags evokes interesting, vivid and realistic images of the world of children living on Truong Sa Island.
Each poem is like a story, a heartfelt whisper, a gentle message about sea hibiscus flowers, square-flowered Indian almond flowers, and maple trees; about vegetable gardens, home-cooked meals on the island, vegetable fields, and dogs... The daily life of Truong Sa is both close and familiar, but also has many differences and uniqueness.

Touching the hearts of adults
Critic Hoang Thuy Anh was impressed by the way Huynh Mai Lien gently recounted the story of the remote island, pure as the rustic morning dew. Although written for children, the book of poems still beckons and touches the hearts of adults with its sincere poetic voice, restrained expression, and strong belief that the island is a part of the flesh and blood of the Fatherland.
Like the previous books, this book of poems by Huynh Mai Lien continues to be illustrated by her daughter Mai Khue, creating an interesting combination in the book of poems.
At the poetry collection launch, the island soldiers and children together enthusiastically read their favorite poems in the collection, showing the appeal to all ages of the work written from the sincere heart of a person who loves his homeland's sea and islands and loves children.
"Simple and rustic in words, sincere and full of emotions, the collection of poems helps readers understand and love more the homeland Truong Sa sea and islands - where every day there are always eyes, smiles and voices of children.
We need more poetry collections like this, directed towards the children of Truong Sa, and from the children of Truong Sa, nurturing the sacred love for the Fatherland," said Mr. Mai Anh Tuan.
