Bryan Adams had to cancel his show in Australia because of... a giant fat lump.

Bryan Adams' sold-out show at Perth's RAC Arena has been cancelled just hours before the Grammy-winning singer was due to take to the stage for his So Happy It Hurts tour, leaving thousands of fans disappointed.

"Crews are working to clear blockages caused by grease, oil and rags, which have caused a number of sewer overflows" near the arena, Perth Water Corporation said in a statement, warning: "People should avoid contact with any puddles of water as they may be sewage."

Fatbergs form over time when non-biodegradable items are flushed or washed down the drain instead of being properly disposed of.

Large fatbergs can cause serious blockages in a city's sewer system. In 2021, a giant 330-ton fatberg caused a disaster in Birmingham, UK, blocking the city's sewers for weeks.

Singer Bryan Adams apologizes to fans

Bryan Adams apologized to fans for having to cancel the event at short notice: "I'm truly sorry we can't perform tonight. I look forward to seeing you all." The singer wrote on Facebook on February 9: "I appreciate your patience and support. I will perform as soon as I can reschedule."

The show's organizers promised to refund those who had purchased tickets.

"Last night's concert was unable to go ahead due to an external incident at the Perth Water Corporation which could not be resolved in a timely manner," booking agency Frontier Touring said in a Facebook post on February 10, adding that the situation meant the RAC Arena was deemed "unsafe for spectators."

"The cancellation of the show is truly disappointing and we thank our fans for their understanding. While every effort was made to ensure the show went ahead, this matter is beyond the control of Bryan Adams, Frontier Touring and the RAC Arena," the post said.

But the explanation came too late to disappoint concertgoers, who said they waited hours outside the venue before the show was canceled, ABC News reported.

“It was clear early in the afternoon that there was a serious problem. Shameful to make people stand outside the venue for hours before a decision was made,” one Facebook commenter replied to the booking agent’s post. Another said: “This is catastrophic… 15,000 people waiting on the streets for hours”…

Bryan Adams is scheduled to perform in Sydney on February 12, then travel to Brisbane and Melbourne before his tour moves to the US next month.
