Netizens are arguing about the photo of new player Bryan Mbeumo in his debut match against Everton on the morning of August 4.

A photo of Mbeumo went viral on social media, showing off his "oversized" midsection during a friendly against Everton. Criticism of Mbeumo increased immediately after the photo went viral.

One fan wrote: "£70m for a super-rounded striker?". Another commented: "Mbeumo has had a pretty good summer."

However, the British press claimed that this was merely a manipulated image. This assertion was quickly echoed by a section of the fans.

"If Mbeumo looked like this, he would have been crossed out by Ruben Amorim, let alone on the pitch," one fan wrote. Another account commented: "Mbeumo looked very slim when he debuted for MU. Obviously that photo was doctored."

In the match against Everton, Mbeumo was deployed as a striker in a 3-4-1-2 formation. Alongside the former Brentford player was Matheus Cunha. Despite being a center forward, the Cameroonian player constantly dropped back to midfield and showed good chemistry with the rest of the team, especially Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo.
