To commemorate the 33rd anniversary of International Day of Older Persons on October 1st, on the afternoon of September 26th, provincial leaders visited and presented gifts to elderly people in several localities throughout the province.
On the afternoon of September 26th, Comrade Doan Minh Huan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited and presented gifts to elderly people being cared for at the Provincial Center for Social Protection and Welfare, as well as representatives of elderly people in Ninh Binh city.
Accompanying the delegation were leaders from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; the Provincial Party Committee Office; the Ninh Binh Provincial Youth Union; leaders from the Ninh Binh City Party Committee; the Provincial Senior Citizens Association; and representatives from the local authorities of the areas the delegation visited.
The Provincial Center for Social Protection and Welfare is currently caring for 92 individuals, including 72 elderly people and those with severe disabilities. With the mission of providing social services and receiving, managing, caring for, and nurturing lonely elderly people without family support and those with severe disabilities, the staff and employees of the Center have shown dedication and care for these individuals with a sense of responsibility and love. The Center implements all policies and regulations for these individuals in accordance with the State's regulations.
Next, the delegation visited and presented gifts to the families of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Em, 102 years old, and Mrs. Vu Thi Nhuong, 107 years old, both mothers of martyrs, residing in Duc The Street, Ninh Phong Ward (Ninh Binh City).

During his visits, the Provincial Party Secretary cordially inquired about the health, living conditions, and material and spiritual well-being of the elderly at the Center and their families. He expressed his hope that their children, relatives, and the community, along with the local Party committee and government, would continue to show concern, love, and care so that the elderly could live happily and healthily, and that the quality of life, both material and spiritual, for the elderly in the area would be continuously improved.
The Provincial Party Secretary also wished the elderly people a happy and healthy life, encouraging them to uphold the spirit of "elderly people setting a good example," continue to teach their children and grandchildren to work hard, produce, and study diligently; and motivate their relatives to enthusiastically participate in social work and build a cultural life in the residential area, serving as a shining example for everyone to follow.
During their visits, the leaders of Ninh Binh province and city, along with local authorities, presented gifts, inquired about the well-being of the elderly, and wished them long, healthy, and happy lives.

Accompanying them were leaders from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; the Provincial Association of the Elderly; and the Gia Viễn District Party Committee and People's Committee.

The delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Dinh Khac Tam, born in 1920, in An Ninh village, Gia Hoa commune, and Ms. Do Thi Tam, born in 1922, in Hamlet 6, Lien Son commune (Gia Vien district).
During his visits, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee cordially inquired about the health and lives of the elderly and expressed his delight that, despite their advanced age, they remained mentally alert and were well cared for by their families.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee wished the elderly good health and longevity so that they could continue to be a source of spiritual support for their children and grandchildren.
Affirming that the elderly are a valuable asset of the nation, the pillars of families and society, the comrade also suggested that local Party committees, authorities, and mass organizations should carry out more specific and practical activities to improve the material and spiritual lives of the elderly.
