Commander of Truong Sa Island and Truong Sa Special Zone gave gifts and encouraged fishermen to take shelter from the tropical depression.

According to information from the Command of Brigade 146 (Naval Region 4), as soon as they received the forecast of the possibility of low pressure intensifying and causing strong winds and thunderstorms in the area, the islands quickly activated the notification system, reviewed disaster prevention plans, checked the ship mooring system, warehouses, and barracks; organized reinforcement of key locations, and ensured smooth communication.

On islands such as Truong Sa, Song Tu Tay, Son Ca, Nam Yet, etc., combat readiness forces were increased; logistics and technical departments focused on checking power sources, water sources, and reserve supplies. Officers and soldiers assisted islanders in securing their houses and collecting items that could be easily blown away by the wind.

Regarding fishing activities of fishermen, the islands have increased loudspeaker announcements, advising fishing vessels operating near the Truong Sa Special Economic Zone to move to safe waters; guiding vessels to take shelter in the harbor when necessary. The military medical system of the islands has prepared a stock of emergency medicine, ready to support fishermen if an incident occurs in bad weather.

Mr. Pham Thanh Liem, Chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Sa Special Zone, emphasized: "The islands always adhere to the motto of not being passive or surprised by any weather developments. The guiding spirit is to be proactive early, prepare from afar, deploy promptly and follow the correct procedures; ensure absolute safety for soldiers and people on the island, and at the same time create a solid support for fishermen to confidently go to sea in complex weather conditions."

Currently, the tropical depression continues to move slowly and is still volatile. Brigade 146 strictly maintains its duty schedule, closely monitors weather developments, and is ready to mobilize forces and vehicles to participate in rescue operations when necessary.
