On November 14th, the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue province issued an urgent notice regarding the suspension of classes for students on November 15th to avoid flooding.

Specifically, according to the Thua Thien Hue Department of Education and Training, many areas in Huong Tra town, Phong Dien, Quang Dien, Phu Loc, Phu Vang, A Luoi, Nam Dong districts, and Hue City are currently experiencing localized flooding. The Thua Thien Hue Department of Education and Training is notifying the leaders of the District Departments of Education and Training; the Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers; and the principals of schools under the Department's jurisdiction to proactively inform students to take Wednesday (November 15th) off school based on the actual situation in their localities.

Specifically, the forecast for the evening and night of November 14th suggests that the water level of the Huong River at the Kim Long station could reach 3.5m (level 3 of the flood warning) by 11 PM; the Bo River could reach 3.65m (0.65m above flood warning level 2); and the Truoi River (Phu Loc district) could reach 3.0m.

Also related to the flood situation, on the evening of November 14th, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds caused trees to fall and roofs to be blown off several houses in Lang Co town (Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province). Immediately after receiving the information, the Lang Co Border Guard Station (under the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Border Guard Command) mobilized 15 officers and soldiers to coordinate with the local authorities to relocate people and their property to safe places; assist people in repairing houses and clearing fallen trees to ensure traffic flow.

According to a representative from the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Border Guard Command, the unit currently maintains 380 officers and soldiers and 24 vehicles on duty 24/7; directing units to closely monitor weather developments and the local situation; coordinating with local authorities to review and plan the evacuation of people in dangerous areas; and having forces and vehicles ready to carry out tasks when situations arise.
