The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway construction site is buzzing with machinery, dozens of construction teams are accelerating their shifts, and output is increasing daily following Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's inspection visit.
The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway, 88km long, passes through the territories of two provinces, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh, with an investment of approximately 20,400 billion VND. After more than two years of construction, the progress has reached 7,300/13,343 billion VND of the construction capital, with nearly 8,900 billion VND disbursed.
Following Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's on-site inspection of the project, construction work has been accelerated by Deo Ca Group and its consortium of contractors. The entire construction site is buzzing with machinery, with 50 construction teams working 24/7.
The embankment work for the main road has reached over 95% completion, with drainage systems and pedestrian underpasses finished; 12km of crushed stone base course has been constructed. A representative from the contractor stated that for the completed sections of embankment (k98), the unit is accelerating the construction of the base course, preparing for asphalt paving to complete the roadbed in 2025.
The crushed stone aggregate has been fully prepared, ensuring a stable supply for the project.
As the crushed stone was dumped, it was leveled and then transported to the construction site where the roller crew took over, compacting and sealing the roadbed.
Along the entire route, there are 77 bridges of various sizes. To date, the abutments and piers of all 77 bridges have been completed, and the girders are currently being installed on 50 bridges.
The Song Ve Bridge, over 600 meters long and the largest on the route, has been largely completed, ensuring the smooth movement and transfer of equipment and machinery across the river.
After the Lunar New Year holiday, the project site returned to its usual 3-shift, 4-team work schedule. Workers resumed their previous routines, with teams taking turns working with the determination to complete the project in 2025 as directed by the Prime Minister .
The critical path of the project is the system of three tunnels through the mountains; to date, tunnels No. 1 and No. 2 have been largely completed. As for tunnel No. 3, 5,000 out of 6,400 meters have been excavated for both tunnel tubes, and nearly 1,700 meters of concrete lining have been laid...
As the tunneling work progresses, the Deo Ca contractor organizes the installation of steel arches and grout injection to reinforce the tunnel lining, ensuring the safety of the project and also implementing a phased construction approach to ensure completion by 2025.
Mr. Ngo Truong Nam, General Director of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company, said that after the Tet holiday, the group's leadership immediately began construction work on the project. Nearly 4,000 personnel and 1,500 pieces of equipment have returned to work on the project site.
