These days, when the whole country is looking forward to the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, in Tan Ky commune ( Nghe An ), a 40-meter long “flag road” with brilliant red color has appeared, making passersby surprised and feel the exciting atmosphere of the great festival. The creators of this special “work” are the couple Phan Thi Minh Thuy and Tran Minh Tam, who spent many days putting a “new coat” on the wall in front of their house.
The street was lit up with Party flags, national flags and colorful flower pots. |
Right at the entrance to Ms. Thuy's house is a long wall belonging to the forest protection agency. In 2023, she asked the management unit for permission to paint decorations on the wall and the idea received enthusiastic approval and support.
“I simply thought that I was Vietnamese and wanted to do something to express my national pride and patriotism and spread it to everyone. So my husband and I decided to repaint that wall,” Thuy shared.
They began to meticulously measure each wall, drawing the yellow star, hammer and sickle and other decorative details according to standard sizes. Around, alternating between the national flag and the Party flag were colorful flower pots, all blending into a brilliant picture stretching 40 meters.
This project was completed 3 years ago and every important occasion of the country such as April 30 or September 2, they spend time repainting and renovating to keep the road beautiful and full of spirit.
"When the flag gets moldy due to rain and sun, we repaint it with 3D acrylic paint, which will last about 6 months," said Ms. Thuy.
Mr. Tam and Ms. Thuy are proud to do something meaningful. |
To celebrate the National Day on September 2nd this year, Mr. Tam and Ms. Thuy continued to "renovate" the wall. This time, she took pictures and shared them online, so this project became known to many people. The image of the red flag road quickly spread and became a favorite place for many people in the area. Many families and groups of friends in Nghe An came to take pictures.
“The area where I live is mountainous, there aren’t many monuments or beautiful photo spots. If this wall can bring joy, I’m always willing to welcome everyone,” Thuy said.
On social networking forums, many people expressed their feelings and thoughts about the country, the people and their boundless pride in the two words Vietnam when commenting on the couple's work: "They did it enthusiastically and naturally, showing pride in their homeland, this feeling is easily 'contagious' in these historic days"; "The brilliant colors of the Vietnamese Revolution, so wonderful".
"In you and me today, there is a part of the country", I remember this poem by Nguyen Khoa Diem and am deeply moved, thank you"; "Looking at the road full of enthusiasm and patriotism, the work is truly meaningful"...
Not only the online community, but also the local government highly appreciates the work of Ms. Thuy and Mr. Tam. They not only created a beautiful project but also contributed to igniting the spirit of national pride in the community.
