A day after their victory against U22 Malaysia, U22 Vietnam returned to training to prepare for their semi-final match against the Philippines at the SEA Games 33. Before the training session, midfielder Phi Hoang said: "We are very happy to have won against Malaysia. Currently, coach Kim Sang Sik hasn't shared much, only congratulated the team on their victory."

"The U22 Vietnam team hasn't studied their semi-final opponent yet, but we always stay focused, and every time we step onto the field, we try to execute the tactics given by the coaching staff."

Phi Hoang started in the U22 Vietnam's 2-0 victory over U22 Malaysia. He played energetically and played a crucial role in the U22 Vietnam midfield. Phi Hoang and his teammates advanced to the semi-finals with two wins out of two matches, but he affirmed that U22 Vietnam still has shortcomings that need to be addressed in order to achieve further victories.

"From today, the Vietnam U22 team will train intensively, improve their daily routines, and try to communicate more to prepare for the semi-final match. The Philippines are a strong team. They beat Indonesia. But the most important thing for the U22 team is to focus and fight with all their might in the match against the Philippines. What the team needs to improve is their finishing," Phi Hoang said.
