Asian fans show heartwarming support for the Vietnamese women's team after their loss to the Netherlands.

The Vietnamese women's team suffered a heavy defeat against the Netherlands.

Nevertheless, Huynh Nhu and her teammates still received much encouragement from Asian football fans.

"I've said before, the USA, the Netherlands, and Portugal are all top teams. The Vietnamese women's team was unlucky to be drawn into this group."

"Anyway, they did very well in their first appearance on the world stage. Let's all work together for the development of ASEAN football," wrote user Chit Paing.

"Get up and keep fighting, girls. Sending you our best wishes from the Philippines," one commenter wrote.

A Facebook user from Thailand argued that the fact a Southeast Asian team has made it to the World Cup is a tremendous effort and deserves recognition.

Furthermore, facing strong opponents like the USA or the Netherlands and losing is also acceptable.

"I see nothing to laugh about being in such a strong group. Vietnam has done very well. They have tried their best," this person wrote.

"Just getting to the World Cup is already a great achievement. What more do we want from them?", the Iranian fan questioned.

"Please don't laugh at them, they tried their best, even though it didn't have much effect," the Thai fan continued.

Meanwhile, a user named Quakee acknowledged that in Asia, only Japan had demonstrated their strength.

Therefore, it's not entirely surprising that a newcomer like Vietnam lost.

"Congratulations to Vietnam anyway. Our women's football is still not really developed, except for Japan."

We always support you. It was a great experience. Keep up the good work next time!

Thus, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team have ended their journey at the 2023 World Cup with three consecutive losses and finished last in Group E.
