Accordingly, OpenAI has integrated the search function directly into its famous chatbot instead of developing a separate product.
The new feature will provide quick, up-to-date answers and links to reliable sources. It uses a refined GPT-4o model and combines third-party search providers and content from partners.
ChatGPT Plus and Team users got to experience the feature yesterday (October 31). Next week, business and education users will get access, while free users will have to wait a few months.
Any website or publisher that has signed on to the OpenAI partnership can appear in ChatGPT search results.
The integration of the new feature into ChatGPT comes after OpenAI successfully raised $6.6 billion in funding, valuing the company at $157 billion; marking OpenAI becoming a competitor to rivals such as Google, Microsoft Bing and Perplexity.
