Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Quang has just signed and issued Decision No. 1871/QD-UBND dated September 23, 2024 on the detailed allocation of investment sources in the provincial budget balance in 2024 to implement the Project on collection, transportation and treatment of household waste in the period of 2021 - 2025.

Accordingly, the decision approved the detailed allocation of 7.5 billion VND from the investment capital source in the provincial budget balance in 2024 to arrange for the People's Committee of Phu Ninh district to perform the task of completing the auxiliary infrastructure of Tram Than Waste Treatment Complex under the Project on collection, transportation and treatment of domestic waste in the period of 2021-2025.
Of which, 5 billion VND is spent on land acquisition, compensation, and site clearance to implement the Waste-to-Energy Treatment Plant project in Tram Than commune, Phu Ninh district, including: 110KV power line, water supply and drainage, essential infrastructure of Tram Than solid waste treatment area, relocation of households affected by the solid waste treatment area in area 5, Tram Than commune. At the same time, 2.5 billion VND is spent on the project of building infrastructure for resettlement areas for relocated households to ensure a safe environmental distance for the Waste-to-Energy Treatment Plant project in Tram Than commune.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Phu Ninh District People's Committee to manage and use capital for the right purposes and in accordance with regulations. The Department of Planning and Investment shall preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to continue reviewing relevant contents, tasks and procedures, urgently propose detailed allocation of the remaining capital of VND 12.5 billion/VND 20.0 billion assigned in Decision No. 2658/QD-UBND dated December 12, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee to ensure consistency with the objectives and tasks of the Project on collection, transportation and treatment of household waste for the period 2021-2025.
The Tram Than Waste Treatment Complex Project in Tram Than Commune, Phu Ninh District broke ground on October 12, 2017. This is considered one of the largest waste-to-energy plant construction projects in Southeast Asia, jointly invested by Au Viet Resources and Environment Joint Stock Company and United Expert Investments Limited.
When put into operation, the project is expected to be a waste treatment facility that meets environmental protection standards, reusing waste as a resource to recover energy for power generation; contributing to reducing the pressure on the current lack of landfill space; at the same time, the project also contributes to job creation and contributes to the socio -economic development of the province.
