Ho Chi Minh City Pharmacy Association visited Opella factory and R&D center

(Dan Tri) - Opella opened its only factory and R&D center in Asia to welcome a delegation of pharmacists from the Ho Chi Minh City Pharmacy Association to visit the production process.

International standards for global supply capacity

Currently, the Opella factory meets GMP-WHO standards, and is also certified with TGA-GMP (Australia) and MFDS-GMP (Korea). These are all strict standards, considered by the group as a scale to verify production capacity and international quality control.

Opella Factory, home to Opella's only R&D Center in Asia, is located in the high-tech park of Tang Nhon Phu ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The entire factory area is over 72,000m², with a capacity of up to 90 million product boxes per year. Opella's only R&D center in Asia is also located on this factory campus; it is also one of the group's four global R&D centers, playing a role in developing product formulas suitable for regional needs and conditions.

Currently, many Opella branded products manufactured here have met export standards and are circulated in more than 13 high-demand markets such as Australia, Singapore, Korea, Philippines...

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Pharmacy Association shared: “The fact that domestic manufacturing enterprises have achieved international GMP certification is a testament to their production capacity and global quality control standards. This helps pharmacists feel more confident when advising patients, and at the same time strengthens consumers’ belief that drugs and functional foods produced in Vietnam can achieve international quality standards.”

The quality of each product is verified by modern technology.

Within the factory premises, pharmacists directly observed the modern production process, where automation technology is fully deployed to ensure consistency in every pill and every bottle of product.

To enter the production area, the pharmacists must follow strict hygiene procedures: wear protective clothing, go through air-tight doors to ensure sterility. In the pill production area, pharmacists are introduced to the closed process from mixing raw materials in a sealed pot, pressing pills, coating films, printing directly on pills to complete packaging.

For products such as ampoules, the line performs direct sealing to ensure product quality. Each stage is operated by a highly automated system, with the support of Omron robots and real-time quality control systems.

“What impressed me most was the cleanliness and tidiness in each production area and the way every process was organized scientifically and strictly. From the stage of receiving raw materials to the finished product, every stage was strictly monitored, clearly demonstrating Opella's commitment to ensuring the highest quality for each product,” commented the representative of the visiting delegation.

The tour is an activity in a series of cooperation between Opella and the Ho Chi Minh City Pharmacy Association, aiming to connect and share for the sake of community health. According to participating pharmacists, the fact that the company opened its factory to introduce the production process is an act of transparency and confidence in product quality.
