The program is implemented by the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Promotion Organization (VJCP) and reputable associations of the Vietnamese community in Japan. In particular, the "Thousands of National Flags Flying High" campaign, launched by the program organizers, has created a wave of pride and enthusiasm among the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Japan, as well as international friends in Japan, to participate in the program.

According to Mr. Do Hai Khoi, President of the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Promotion Organization (VJCP), the Vietnam Heart Festival was conceived and planned since the end of 2024, aiming to create a meaningful and proud program for the Vietnamese community in Japan in particular and Vietnamese people abroad in general, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country. The event has received great attention and sponsorship from the Higashiosaka city government, Osaka prefecture, Japan.

Regarding the reason for choosing early May to hold the event, instead of April 30th, Mr. Do Hai Khoi - Head of the Organizing Committee - said: “Early May coincides with the Golden Week holiday (one of the biggest holidays of the year in Japan), so many Vietnamese workers will be on leave. We hope that Vietnamese people living far from their homeland, especially young Vietnamese people, will have the opportunity to participate in the event to express their national pride and patriotism, as well as to remember the sacrifices of previous generations who shed their blood for the country's unification and peace over the past 50 years, thereby becoming more conscious and responsible in building and protecting the homeland in the future.”

The

According to director Huy Lio, the program's producer and general director, two leading Vietnamese artists (representing artists from both the North and South) along with many young artists, Vietnamese art groups, and international art organizations in Japan will participate in the performance. In addition, a special highlight of the program is the "Thousands of National Flags Flying" campaign. The organizers ordered and transported 10,000 national flags to Japan starting in March to distribute free of charge to the audience attending the program, in harmony with the meaningful songs about the homeland performed by the artists on stage.

Director Huy Lio added that the touching images of 50 national flags fluttering in the wind on the stage of the "Spring in the Homeland - Heart of Vietnam" event earlier this year in Japan, which he directed, inspired him and the organizing committee of the "Heart of Vietnam" Festival to do something even bigger this time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification.

Director Huy Lio also hopes that the image of "Thousands of national flags flying high" on the baseball field in Hanazono Park (which is 1.5 times the size of My Dinh Stadium) will inspire patriotism and national pride in every Vietnamese person living abroad.
