Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association - Be Xuan Truong works in Vinh Long province

(VLO) On August 9, Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong - Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam Veterans Association (VVA) as head of the delegation visited the VVA Association of Vinh Long province.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh The - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee participated in receiving the working delegation at the Provincial Veterans Association.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh The - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee received and worked with the delegation.

In the past time, the association has basically completed the tasks assigned by the Central Association and the Provincial Party Committee. Notably, it has made a breakthrough in poverty reduction. From the beginning of 2023 to now, it has helped 21 households escape poverty. The entire association currently has 25 poor households, accounting for 0.17%.

Since the beginning of the term (2022-2027), 56 new houses have been built and 45 houses have been repaired with a total amount of more than 3.4 billion VND. Currently, the entire association basically has no more member households with difficult housing conditions, dilapidated or makeshift houses. Charitable activities, caring for the material and spiritual lives of members have been well implemented.

Besides, the association also encourages members and people to carry out well the 4 donation movement (donating ideas, donating labor, donating property, donating land) to build new rural areas - civilized urban areas; helping 4 island communes of Long Ho district to build landscapes to serve tourism development.

Every year, 100% of the association organizations successfully complete their tasks. Over 98% of the members successfully and excellently complete their tasks. The organization of the 7th Congress of the "Exemplary Veterans" movement was carried out in accordance with regulations, achieving quality and efficiency.

Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong presented the symbol of donation of the house of gratitude to war veterans to build houses for war veterans with housing difficulties.

Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong emphasized that all levels of the association need to continue to be a solid bridge connecting the flesh and blood relationship between the Party, the State and the people; actively participate in Party building, protecting the government, the regime and the people.

In addition, continue to be exemplary, unite, and coordinate to successfully carry out campaigns and patriotic emulation movements of the Central and local levels; continue to help each other sustainably reduce poverty, enrich themselves legitimately, contribute to local socio -economic development, and actively do well in social security work, gratitude programs, and humanitarian charity.

At the same time, coordinate well the work of educating traditional history and cultivating ethics and revolution for young generations of Vietnamese in the homeland.
