He consistently encouraged and promoted the people's strict adherence to the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and regulations, and the rules of agencies and organizations. He fostered internal unity and solidarity within the community, maintaining close relationships with the Party committee, government, and local people. At the same time, he upheld a high sense of responsibility, constantly seeking to learn and improve, and successfully completing his assigned tasks.

Every year, the Elderly Association of the commune, in coordination with the local Party committee, government, Fatherland Front, and various departments and organizations, mobilizes agencies and units in the commune to solemnly organize a longevity celebration for 300 elderly people, with a total amount of 80 million VND. They also visit, encourage, and present hundreds of gifts to elderly people who are sick, ill, poor, in difficult circumstances, or lonely and without support on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year, the Traditional Day of the Elderly (June 6th), the International Day of the Elderly (October 1st), and the Month of Action for the Elderly in Vietnam.

In addition, he, along with the Executive Committee of the Elderly Association in the commune, advised the District People's Committee and coordinated efforts to care for the health of the elderly. They collaborated in strengthening propaganda on nutrition and prevention of common diseases in old age such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, stroke prevention, and musculoskeletal disorders... through the public address system and at health consultation conferences, attracting hundreds of elderly members to participate. Implementing the "Bright Eyes for the Elderly" program, the Association coordinated with Lai Chau Hospital, the District General Hospital, and the Eye Clinic to screen 300 elderly people for eye diseases.

To create a healthy environment for the elderly, Mr. Su and the Executive Committee of the Association coordinated the organization of many sessions to disseminate legal information and current events both domestically and internationally; organized diverse types of cultural, artistic, and sports clubs such as walking, Tai Chi, table tennis, badminton, cycling, chess, yoga, folk dance; poetry clubs, arts clubs, intergenerational self-help clubs, etc.

The movement "Exemplary Grandparents, Parents, Loyal Children, and Filial Grandchildren," launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, has spread widely to every neighborhood and village, receiving enthusiastic support from a large number of elderly people and the general public. Mr. Su encouraged his children, grandchildren, family members, officials, and elderly association members to adopt a cultured lifestyle, preserve and promote the beautiful cultural identity of the nation, and have a sense of responsibility towards the community. From this movement, many families have become shining examples, recognized by the community as exemplary models for building harmonious, happy, and progressive families in the commune. Along with maintaining traditional customs and family values, local families have boldly transformed their crop and livestock structures, applying scientific and technological advancements to production and business to increase income and improve their living standards.

The campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" attracted a large number of elderly members in the commune to participate, contributing to the increasingly renewed appearance of the localities. Mr. Vang Van Su himself contributed nearly 20 cubic meters of sand, gravel, and purchased steel to build culverts across the road.

Mr. Vang Van Su's sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, and positive contributions have helped the Elderly Association of Muong So commune consistently achieve the title of "Strong Association," and is considered a shining example in the association's activities in the district in particular and Lai Chau province in general. Thanks to this, in 2021, the Elderly Association of the commune was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Mr. Su will soon be honored to be selected by the Provincial Elderly Association to attend the Conference to commend elderly people participating in building the grassroots political system, 2019-2024 period, and will receive an award from the Central Association.

Ms. Vu Thi Huyen, Vice President of the Provincial Association of Elderly People, commented: "Mr. Su is an enthusiastic and responsible Association official who successfully completes all assigned tasks; he is always eager to take the lead in all activities and is trusted by the people; all the initiatives he proposes are met with high consensus and agreement from the members."
