This is the first official visit of President Luong Cuong to the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The visit takes place in the context of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos continuing to develop well. Both sides affirmed their determination to strengthen and enhance the friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the new situation, in accordance with the actual situation of each country. This is also a heartfelt visit, an opportunity for the two Parties and two countries to recall the tradition of close ties, the unique and loyal relationship, "deeper than the Red River and the Mekong River," of brothers and comrades who have stood shoulder to shoulder, sharing joys and sorrows in the resistance war and national construction.
During the visit, President Luong Cuong held important talks with the General Secretary and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith; and met with the Speaker of the National Assembly , Saysomphone Phomvihane, and Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.
Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith highly appreciated the significance of President Luong Cuong's first visit to Laos in his new capacity, demonstrating the importance that the Vietnamese Party and State, and President Luong Cuong personally, place on the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. He affirmed that the visit marks an important milestone, contributing to promoting the development of relations between the two Parties and two countries in a deeper, more effective, and practical manner, contributing to serving the cause of renovation, national construction, and defense in each country.

During the talks and meetings, the two sides exchanged views and agreed on major directions for the development of bilateral relations in the coming period, including agreeing to strengthen the close and trustworthy political relationship; maintaining regular visits and contacts at high levels and other levels; and focusing on promoting exchanges and cooperation between the people of the two countries in many rich and flexible forms.
Both sides also reaffirmed that they always attach great importance and give the highest priority to consolidating and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, considering this a priceless asset and a vital element for the revolutionary cause of each country; at the same time, they highly agreed on the need to find new, breakthrough ways to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in economics, culture, science and technology on the basis of maximizing the potential and strengths of each country.

President Luong Cuong also held meetings with several former high-ranking Lao leaders; worked with the Vietnamese Embassy; met with representatives of associations, businesspeople, intellectuals, and the Vietnamese community in Laos; and participated in other important activities. Notably, President Luong Cuong and General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith attended the friendship exchange program "Vietnam – Laos: Our Two Countries, Our Friendship Deeper Than the Red River and the Mekong River," with the presence of numerous veterans and representatives of the generation of Lao students who had studied in Vietnam, as well as Vietnamese students studying in Laos.
The event is a prominent testament to the close and enduring relationship and comradeship between the Parties and peoples of the two countries, as well as the unwavering affection that both sides have shared throughout the long history of their respective nations.
