This information was released at a press briefing on the national scientific conference commemorating the 50th anniversary of national reunification, organized by the Ministry of National Defence in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security , the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

The conference, themed " The Great Victory of Spring 1975 and the New Era of Development for the Vietnamese Nation," was attended by approximately 700 delegates and featured 119 presentations.

Notably, the event included presentations by President Luong Cuong, General Phan Van Giang, General Luong Tam Quang, General Nguyen Tan Cuong... and many leaders and former leaders of the Party and State, as well as veteran revolutionaries from various periods.

In addition, the seminar will feature six historical witnesses, including two who directly participated in the Spring Offensive and Uprising of 1975: Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doanh and Ms. Hoang Thi Khanh, who will give speeches.

The seminar aimed to affirm and clarify that the Great Victory of Spring 1975 was the culmination of the aspiration for peace, the will to unify the country, the courage and wisdom of Vietnam, and the strength of national unity under the wise leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh.

The event will provide a wealth of documents and scientific arguments clarifying the preparation process, the course of the campaign, the coordinating role between forces, the courageous fighting spirit of the army and people nationwide, especially in the South, and valuable lessons from the resistance war against the US to apply to the cause of national construction and defense in the new era.

Colonel Le Thanh Bai, deputy director of the Vietnam Institute of National Defense Strategy and History, said the seminar will take place on April 20 at the auditorium of the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Cadres.
