National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue meets with the King of Thailand

Yesterday afternoon, in Bangkok, Thailand, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with King Maha Vajiralongkorn and the Queen of Thailand. Also in attendance was National Assembly Chairman and Speaker of the Thai House of Representatives Wan Muhamad Noor Matha.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sincerely thanked King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen of Thailand for their hospitality, which was a very special exception, demonstrating the affection and close relationship between the two countries. The National Assembly Chairman respectfully conveyed to the King and Queen the regards and wishes of good health from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other senior leaders of Vietnam. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue informed the King of the good results of the talks and meetings with the Speakers of the House of Representatives and Senate, the Prime Minister of Thailand and the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies. The National Assembly Chairman expressed his belief that under the wise reign of the King, the National Assembly, the Government and the people of Thailand will continue to achieve even greater achievements in national construction and development, playing an increasingly important role in the region and the world . The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to further strengthening the Enhanced Strategic Partnership with Thailand and hopes that the two countries will soon upgrade their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the near future. The King of Thailand highly appreciated the significance of the visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, emphasizing that Thailand and Vietnam are two close neighbors with long-standing relations, so it is necessary to continue strengthening the relationship. King Maha Vajiralongkorn congratulated the good developments in the relationship between the two countries and congratulated the two National Assemblies on signing the Cooperation Agreement. The King reiterated his positive impressions of Vietnam from his visits in 1992 and 1997 when he was still Crown Prince. The King agreed with the National Assembly Chairman's proposal, expressing his wish for the King, the Royal Family, and the Thai Government to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Thailand, supporting and developing Vietnamese culture and language in Thailand, including the Ho Chi Minh Memorial sites, Vietnamese temples, the Vietnam Street, and the Center for Vietnamese Studies. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the King's visits to Vietnam when he was Crown Prince and those of members of the Thai Royal Family; affirming that these were significant events contributing to consolidating and strengthening the friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. The National Assembly Chairman announced his planned visit to Udon Thani province and thanked Thailand for its support in establishing the "Vietnam Street," the first of its kind in Thailand and the world. On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue respectfully conveyed the invitation from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Vo Van Thuong to the King and Queen of Thailand to visit Vietnam at a suitable time.
