On January 18, 1968, officers and soldiers of the 6th Battalion, 12th Regiment, 3rd Golden Star Division secretly assembled in So Nam village to prepare for the attack on Dap Da, marking the beginning of the Tet Offensive in Binh Dinh. The battle was fierce, with our soldiers fighting bravely, never retreating, resolutely holding their positions to the last man. In this battle, 154 soldiers of the 6th Battalion, 12th Regiment, 3rd Golden Star Division heroically sacrificed their lives.
