With that in mind, on the afternoon of January 10, 2023, at the Duyet Thi Duong Theater, Hue Imperial Citadel, the Center collaborated with Dr. Amandine Dabat (French national, art history researcher, 5th-generation descendant of King Ham Nghi, who previously wrote a doctoral dissertation on the life and art of King Ham Nghi) to organize an event titled "Introduction to the Life and Art of King Ham Nghi". At the event, Dr. Amandine Dabat presented information, images, and artifacts related to the life and artistic works of King Ham Nghi, as well as some domestically collected materials, giving Vietnamese people the opportunity to admire and learn more about his life. Speaking at the presentation, Director Hoang Viet Trung emphasized that the Center is continuing its close cooperation with Dr. Amandine Dabat to share and receive important original and electronic data related to King Ham Nghi in the future. At the same time, "The Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center is also proposing that Thua Thien Hue province strengthen exchange and cooperation activities with the Vietnamese Embassy in France, the French School of Far Eastern Studies, the French National Overseas Archives in Aix-en-Provence, museums, researchers, collectors, and conservation experts in France to exchange and seek important historical documents related to the Nguyen Dynasty to serve research, conservation, and restoration of Hue relics in the future."
Also as part of this series of events, on the afternoon of the same day, the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum ( thuộc the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center) inaugurated an exhibition space about King Ham Nghi with the theme "King Ham Nghi (1871-1944) Life and Art" at the Te Tuu House. Besides leaders from cultural departments in the province, the event attracted many prominent intellectuals from Hue, members of the Hue royal family, and students from the Francophone community in Hue.
This series of events is of particular importance, opening up many opportunities for cultural exchange and strengthening cooperative relations between Thua Thien Hue province and France; in the context of 2023 marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France, and also the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France.
