At the Human Act Prize ceremony organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with relevant organizations, Nestlé Vietnam 's NESCAFÉ Plan program was proudly honored in the most prestigious category - "Award of the Year" - Human Act Prize.

The award recognizes Nestlé Vietnam's contributions and unwavering commitment to building a community of coffee farmers based on a regenerative and sustainable agricultural model, improving farmers' livelihoods and significantly contributing to enhancing the status of Vietnamese coffee beans. The Human Act Prize is a national award organized annually by the Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with relevant organizations to honor individuals and organizations that have made positive contributions to society through reputable initiatives and projects that create long-lasting and sustainable impacts. Among these, the Human Act Prize is the most prestigious award, honoring programs and actions that bring positive and sustainable contributions to the community, inspiring dedication and commitment to a better future for all. Having surpassed 128 high-quality projects in the preliminary round and 32 outstanding projects in the final round, the NESCAFÉ Plan program was honored with the Human Act Prize for "Award of the Year" in the category of programs with significant impact, creating lasting value for the community and the environment. This recognition is not only an honor but also proof of the practical values that NESCAFÉ Plan has brought. By placing people at the center of all activities, NESCAFÉ Plan has made positive and sustainable impacts in two aspects. Specifically, by identifying farmers as the central figures, directly managing resources and making farming decisions appropriate to their specific circumstances, the NESCAFÉ Plan program helps farmers recognize their role as a crucial link in the entire value chain and as agents of transformation.

The adoption and transformation of coffee farming practices towards regenerative methods by participating farmers is one of the key factors contributing to the success of the NESCAFÉ Plan. This positive change has helped farmers improve their livelihoods, their families, their communities, and, more broadly, contributed to the sustainable development of Vietnam's coffee industry, making Vietnam a benchmark for Robusta coffee in the world . Over more than 13 years of partnering with farmers, Nestlé has conducted hundreds of thousands of technical training sessions on sustainable coffee farming and provided support and digital management tools to enable farmers to proactively practice regenerative agriculture, manage their farms effectively, and contribute to building a sustainable future. Simultaneously, through the program to develop female farmer group leaders, the program has contributed to promoting women's empowerment and gender equality in the community and within the value chain. The second key factor contributing to the program's success is Nestlé Vietnam's agricultural support team, whose members have been dedicated to supporting and working directly with farmers in the field since 2011. The program's success is the fruit of more than a decade of close collaboration and shared hardship with farmers. Starting with just a few households, the NESCAFÉ Plan has now connected with 21,000 farming households, helping them increase their income by 30%-100%. Honored with the highest award – "Award of the Year" at the 2024 Human Act Prize ceremony, the NESCAFÉ Plan demonstrates the recognition from experts across the Award's diverse fields for the program's positive and comprehensive contribution, from building a thriving farming community to green, sustainable agriculture that is prepared to respond to the challenges of climate change.

Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, Director of External Affairs and Communications at Nestlé Vietnam, stated: "We are committed to working closely with coffee farmers to help them cope with increasingly severe climate change, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve their livelihoods. In particular, the NESCAFÉ Plan helps farmers understand that they are a sustainable link in the global value chain. Above all, the program will continue to expand until 2030 and beyond, for a more prosperous Vietnam and a more sustainable planet." The NESCAFÉ Plan is a global initiative of Nestlé Group, implemented in Vietnam since 2011. The NESCAFÉ Plan plays a crucial role in addressing the challenges of the coffee industry in Vietnam through specific and innovative solutions, focusing on regenerative agriculture, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving farmers' livelihoods, and protecting the environment. With a vision to become "a pioneering global company that engages local communities in sustainable development," Nestlé Vietnam always places people at the center of all its activities. Throughout its 13 years of implementing the NESCAFÉ Plan and 30 years of operation in Vietnam, Nestlé has collaborated with the Vietnamese government , farming communities, and partners to implement practical initiatives that not only contribute to the development of Vietnam's coffee industry but also inspire self-reliance and prosperity in agriculture.
Launched in 2011, the NESCAFÉ Plan has had a positive impact on the sustainable development of the coffee industry in Vietnam: NESCAFÉ Plan Vietnam is the most successful program among 18 markets worldwide. It has been implemented for over 13 years and will continue to be promoted in the coming years, focusing on regenerative agriculture. It has helped 21,000 farming households produce coffee sustainably according to the 4C standards, increasing their income by 30% - 100%. It has distributed over 86 million high-quality seedlings and replanted over 86,000 hectares of aging coffee trees. It has reduced irrigation water by 40%-60% and reduced the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides by 20%. It has received recognition and commendations from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, VICOFA, and UN Women. It has made Vietnam a benchmark for Robusta coffee worldwide.
