At the 2024 National Music and Dance Festival, the musical "Chi Pheo's Dream" won many categories, including the Outstanding Award for the musical. This is also the first Broadway-style musical in Vietnam.
Notably, the person playing Thi No is the daughter of artist Thanh Thanh Hien - singer Hoang Thai Phuong.
Hoang Thai Phuong said that at first she hid from her mother to go to the casting for the role of Thi No and was extremely surprised when People's Artist Tan Minh - Director of Thang Long Music and Dance Theater and musician Duong Cam agreed. Thai Phuong shared that Thi No is a good role, bringing her many creative emotions.
Hoang Thai Phuong (nicknamed Tam), is 20 years old. She is the second daughter of artist Thanh Thanh Hien and her first husband - Dan Bau artist Anh Tu.
Born into an artistic family, Hoang Thai Phuong quickly inherited her parents' talent. She followed the family tradition from the age of 6 when she pursued Ca Tru. In 2016, Thai Phuong won first prize at the Hanoi Ca Tru Festival.
Besides ca tru, Thai Phuong can sing xam, cai luong, folk music and play the monochord.
Since childhood, Thai Phuong has often stood on stage singing duets with her mother.
Artist Hoang Anh Tu once commented that his youngest daughter resembles her mother in being enthusiastic and clearly expressing her passion.
When her parents let Hoang Thai Phuong learn Ca Tru, she thought she didn't like it, but after a while she found it interesting and went to learn it herself. Hoang Thai Phuong often affectionately calls her mother "My Aunt Hien".
