At the meeting, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen spent considerable time discussing important issues related to the implementation of Resolution 98/2023/QH on piloting some specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City; the review of the implementation of the Law on Supervision by the National Assembly and People's Councils; and the mid-term review of the activities of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.
Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen assessed that, with approximately 100 proposals on specific mechanisms, policies, and projects being discussed and considered, this was an unprecedentedly large workload for the City People's Council.
With thorough and urgent preparation, the committees and delegates of the City People's Council have acted in accordance with the spirit of the Prime Minister , the City Party Committee, and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee in concretizing Resolution 98.

Secretary Nguyen Van Nen likened the current situation to a ship fully loaded with cargo and ready to accelerate, saying that all the necessary work for Resolution 98 is now complete. The ship's crew has worked diligently day and night, and today, the final review council, the City People's Council, will stamp the seal, marking the ship's departure.
"The ship named Resolution 98 has sailed a short distance, and the first cargo has been loaded. Today, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has a day to decide on hundreds of specific projects and works," the head of the city's Party Committee remarked.
Party Secretary Nguyen Van Nen suggested that, in implementing Resolution 98, Ho Chi Minh City needs to broaden its development scope and proactively manage its activities. Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City's healthcare and education activities could be expanded to a regional scope.

"Most people who work, live, and study in Ho Chi Minh City come from other localities in the region. If people in the region don't need to travel far to work, live, study, and access healthcare, that would be great," the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee expressed.
In that spirit, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee suggested that agencies, units, and localities proactively expand their scope and activities in a dynamic and creative manner, aiming to create favorable conditions for people and businesses not only in the city but also in the entire region.
