Previously, Ms. H. Nghé Kuan's family (Bhôk village) was classified as a poor household. In 2022, with the support of the local government, she boldly borrowed 50 million VND from the poverty alleviation fund and 20 million VND from the clean water and sanitation fund to change her way of doing business. With the borrowed capital, she drilled a well, built barns, bought more cows and piglets, and gradually developed her livestock farming model. Thanks to her hard work and perseverance, her family now owns more than 10 cows and a herd of dozens of pigs, rising out of poverty.

Mr. Y Khon Kuan (from Dong Bak village) received a breeding cow from the local government. Mr. Y Khon said: “Previously, my family was classified as a poor household. In 2023, I received a loan of 50 million VND, and in 2024, I received a breeding cow. My wife and I worked hard, and now our family has escaped poverty and our economic situation is gradually stabilizing.”
In addition, essential areas such as health insurance support, housing, and clean water supply are being implemented in accordance with regulations. These policies not only reduce the financial burden but also help people access basic social services and improve their quality of life.
To ensure sustainable poverty reduction, Lien Son Lak commune has proactively utilized support resources to invest in the construction of roads, small-scale irrigation systems, and public welfare facilities. This has contributed to changing the rural landscape, facilitating trade, transportation of agricultural products, and access to markets.
It can be said that the synchronized implementation of the Party and State's social security programs and policies across all areas of social life has contributed to achieving positive results in poverty reduction in Lien Son Lak. By the end of 2025, the entire commune had 963 poor households (a decrease of 247 households compared to the end of 2024), and 927 near-poor households (a decrease of 193 households); of which the number of poor ethnic minority households was 921 (a decrease of 223 households, equivalent to 5%).

According to Dao Thi Thanh An, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Lien Son Lak commune, the most important goal in helping households escape poverty sustainably is to awaken the spirit and will of the people themselves to gradually eliminate and overcome the mentality of waiting and relying on others. Therefore, in the coming time, the locality will continue to fully and promptly implement support policies for poor and near-poor households; focusing on creating livelihoods to improve economic self-reliance, developing forms of production organization in groups of households to expand scale, and paying attention to poor households of ethnic minorities and poor households headed by women...
