On September 14th, the Hanoi City Police announced that on the afternoon of September 13th, false rumors spread in Duong Xa and Duong Quang communes (Gia Lam district) claiming that the head of the PGBank Phu Thuy branch had gone bankrupt and been arrested.

This false information has negatively impacted public opinion. Some customers have gathered at PGBank branches and transaction offices in Long Bien district and Gia Lam district to withdraw their deposits.

At the same time, false information also affects the image and reputation of PGBank and the rights of local residents who deposit money there.

Currently, all operations of PGBank in Long Bien district and Gia Lam district are proceeding normally and with absolute safety, fully complying with all legal regulations as well as those of the State Bank of Vietnam .

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam's Hanoi branch, and Mr. Pham Manh Thang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of PGBank, met and held dialogues with several customers and affirmed that customer deposits at PGBank are guaranteed in accordance with regulations.

The Hanoi City Police leadership has directed the Economic Security Department to coordinate with the Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department, the Gia Lam District Police, and other functional units to verify and clarify the situation in order to strictly handle malicious individuals who intentionally spread false information, affecting security and order.

Hanoi City Police are urging citizens to exercise caution and vigilance when writing or sharing inaccurate information; to avoid causing public panic, negatively impacting security and order in the city, affecting the interests of depositors, and damaging the image and reputation of banks.
