On September 14, Hanoi City Police said that on the afternoon of September 13, in Duong Xa and Duong Quang communes (Gia Lam district), false rumors were spread that the leader of PGBank Phu Thuy Transaction Office was bankrupt and had been arrested.

This false information has negatively impacted public opinion. Some customers have gathered at the transaction office and branch of PGBank in Long Bien and Gia Lam districts to withdraw their deposits.

At the same time, false information also affects the image and reputation of PGBank and the rights of local people who deposit money here.

Currently, all activities of PGBank in Long Bien district and Gia Lam district are taking place normally and absolutely safely, in full compliance with the provisions of law as well as the State Bank of Vietnam .

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Hanoi Branch, and Mr. Pham Manh Thang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of PGBank met and had a dialogue with a number of customers and affirmed that customer deposits at PGBank are all guaranteed in accordance with regulations.

The leaders of Hanoi City Police have directed the Economic Security Department to coordinate with the Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department, Gia Lam District Police and other functional units to verify, clarify and strictly handle bad actors who intentionally spread false information, affecting security and order.

Hanoi City Police Department recommends that people be cautious and vigilant when writing articles and sharing inaccurate information; avoid causing public panic, negatively affecting security and order in the city, affecting the interests of depositors and the image and reputation of banks.
