Tien Thanh Ward Trade Union aims to better care for workers' lives

On the morning of October 28, Tien Thanh Ward Trade Union held the 1st Congress of Delegates, term 2025 - 2030.

Attending the Congress were comrade Nguyen Phu Hoang, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation; comrade Nguyen Tuan Anh, Provincial Party Committee member, Secretary of the Tien Thanh Ward Party Committee and 80 delegates representing more than 1,500 union members and workers in the ward.

Overview of the Tien Thanh Ward Trade Union Congress

According to the report, Tien Thanh Ward Trade Union currently has 15 grassroots trade unions with a total of 1,553 union members. The workforce, civil servants and employees mainly work in the service, tourism and production - business sectors, mostly in the enterprise sector. The workforce has good moral qualities, solid professional qualifications, the ability to quickly adapt to market mechanisms and know how to apply science and technology to work. Thanks to the attention of the Party Committee and the government, the jobs and lives of workers are increasingly improved, with an average income of 5.5 - 7 million VND/month.

During the past term, Tien Thanh Ward Union has always focused on taking care of the lives of union members and workers. The unit has supported grassroots unions to improve the quality of shift meals with a support level of 20,000 - 25,000 VND/meal, effectively maintaining the "Union Meal" program. In addition, the Ward Union has awarded hundreds of social security gifts worth nearly 100 million VND and coordinated with businesses to give gifts to union members and workers on holidays and Tet with a total cost of more than 300 million VND, contributing to improving welfare and spreading the spirit of solidarity and sharing in the community.

Speaking at the Congress, comrade Nguyen Phu Hoang, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, requested Tien Thanh Ward Union to continue to effectively organize emulation movements and campaigns, pay attention to practically taking care of the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, especially those who are disadvantaged and in difficult circumstances.

He emphasized that the ward union needs to innovate its working methods, raise awareness, improve working conditions for workers, and promote cultural and sports activities to create a positive working environment, contributing to improving productivity and sustainable development. In addition, it is necessary to focus on developing union members, strengthening grassroots union organizations, improving professional qualifications, skills and political capacity for union members and union officials.

In the coming term, Tien Thanh Ward Trade Union sets out 8 key targets with the theme "Solidarity, democracy, discipline, innovation, development", aiming to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, contributing to improving the lives and building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization.

The ward union will step up propaganda and mobilization, helping union members grasp the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; innovate the content and methods of operation in a practical and effective direction; focus on improving the quality of staff, performing well in financial work and women's activities, creating a foundation for stable development.

Along with that, the Ward Union accompanies agencies and enterprises, launches emulation movements associated with professional tasks, encourages union members and workers to strive to fulfill annual targets and plans, and actively contributes to the local socio-economic development.

At the Congress, the Organizing Committee announced the decisions to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and key positions of Tien Thanh Ward Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term, along with the decision to appoint delegates to attend the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Trade Union Congress. Comrade Dao Thi Ha Ny was appointed to hold the position of Chairwoman of Tien Thanh Ward Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term.
