Ethnic minority communities in 16 provinces and cities jubilantly opened the festival

On the evening of December 14, at the Quang Tri Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center (Dong Ha City), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province coordinated with relevant units to organize the opening ceremony of the 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival.

The festival was attended by many ethnic minority communities from 16 provinces and cities including Lang Son, Son La, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam , Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong and Quang Tri.

Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized that this is an opportunity to promote the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups, equality, solidarity, respect, integration and development for a peaceful world.

Quang Tri delegation greeted the audience with a lively dance full of wildness.

"The 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam were formed and crystallized during the historical process of building and defending the country. Those cultural values have created a strong strength, the glue that connects and makes up the strength of the Vietnamese people. Besides common cultural values, each ethnic group has its own identity produced from historical traditions, natural landscapes, and residential areas, thereby forming unique cultural values," said Ms. Thuy.
