In some places, the return-to-work rate reached 99%.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the afternoon of February 3rd, Mr. Tran Van Hieu - chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Zones in Bac Ninh province (with approximately 181,000 members) - said that according to a quick survey, almost all workers have returned to work. A few units have achieved a rate of 95-99%.

"Some organizations work throughout the Tet holiday, so those workers will have time off during the first few days of work, resulting in a generally low first-day attendance rate," he shared.

Mr. Duong Van Thai, chairman of the Trade Union of industrial zones in Thai Nguyen province (with approximately 30,000 workers), said that during the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, 6-7 units registered to have their workers work during the holiday, totaling nearly 1,000 people.

According to Mr. Thai, a quick survey shows that approximately 95% of workers in industrial zones have returned to work, and 98% of businesses have resumed operations after the Lunar New Year holiday.

"Typically, on the first day back to work after Tet, the labor attendance rate is around 95%, and it will be basically full within a few days. Preliminary estimates suggest that businesses will need to recruit more than 4,000 people in early spring 2025," he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ha Minh Vi, the permanent vice chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Zones in Bac Giang province (with approximately 212,000 workers), said that businesses have basically resumed production starting today.

However, some businesses still allowed their employees to take the day off until February 4th and return to work on February 5th (the 8th day of the first lunar month), such as Young One Co., Ltd., and Korea Electric Wire and Cable Co., Ltd.

"According to quick reports from grassroots trade unions on the morning of February 3rd, the return of workers to work in businesses reached 90-100%," he said.

According to the Bac Giang Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board, all six industrial parks in the province, with 16 enterprises and over 7,000 workers, have registered to work during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Snake 2025.

These include Fuyu Precision Technology Co., Ltd. (Quang Chau Industrial Park) with 4,500 employees working throughout the Tet holiday, followed by Hana Micron Vina Co., Ltd. (Van Trung Industrial Park) with 750 people, and Hosiden Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Quang Chau Industrial Park) with 500 people working throughout the Tet holiday...

Workers return to work in union-provided vehicles.

In the capital, Mr. Pham Quang Thanh - chairman of the Hanoi Federation of Labor - stated that, according to reports from trade unions at all levels, on the first day back to work, nearly 92% of businesses citywide had resumed production and about 96% of workers had returned to work as planned.

"In Hanoi's industrial and export processing zones, approximately 97% of businesses started production on the very first day of returning to work, with about 96% of their total workforce."

"According to our observations, union members who went home for Tet and returned to work were very enthusiastic. Before, during, and after Tet, there were no strikes, work stoppages, or collective work stoppages in the city," he said.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang, chairman of the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Trade Union, said that the Hanoi City Federation of Labor, in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Transport, recently organized seven charitable bus trips to bring 400 workers from Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces back to the capital for work.

According to Mr. Thang, at the worker reception points, the trade union visited, wished them a Happy New Year, and gave lucky money to the children of the workers.

In the coming period, the trade union will continue to promote and encourage employers to implement better policies and benefits, so that workers will be committed to and dedicated to their units, and to ensure production and business operations.
