On September 2, the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples (ICAP), in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba, solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), the 55th anniversary of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament and commemorating the 55th anniversary of his death (September 2, 1969 - September 2, 2024) at the park named after him in the capital city of Havana.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of ICAP, the Central Committee for External Relations of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association, the authorities of Revolution Square district, teachers and students of Huberto Black Secondary School, and the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in the host country.

Speaking at the event, ICAP President, Cuban Hero Fernando González Llort, highlighted the historical significance of September 2, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Cuban hero Fernando González Llort affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh's Testament has been, is and will always be the compass and practical foundation for the people and the Communist Party of Vietnam to continue to achieve many achievements in the sustainable development process towards a rich people, strong country, fair and civilized society.
Mr. Fernando González Llort believes that Vietnam will firmly step forward on the path of building a modern, developed, prosperous and increasingly beautiful country as President Ho Chi Minh always wished.
Mr. Fernando González Llort once again emphasized the special friendship and solidarity between the Cuban and Vietnamese peoples, which has been carefully cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
For his part, Ambassador Le Quang Long affirmed that after 79 years, September 2 - National Independence Day has left its mark and pride in every Vietnamese person and has always been a great source of encouragement to arouse the enthusiasm of generations of Vietnamese in building Vietnam to become more and more developed and deeply integrated with the world.
Ambassador Le Quang Long expressed that before passing away, beloved President Ho Chi Minh left the entire Party and people a sacred Testament, conveying his wishes, will, faith and responsibility to the entire Party and people. The Testament is the crystallization of moral, cultural and noble emotional values, the mark of an outstanding intellect, a passionate heart, of a patriot, a great leader and an outstanding communist soldier.

Uncle Ho's testament, with its timeless value, not only influences generations of young Vietnamese today but will forever be a source of inspiration for generations of young people to study and follow the moral example, ideology and style of Ho Chi Minh.
55 years of implementing His Testament and after nearly 40 years of carrying out the renovation process, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese people are very happy and proud that in every historical moment they have always received the support, solidarity and wholehearted help of the Party, State and people of Cuba, a living proof of the immortal words of Revolutionary Leader Fidel Castro Ruz on the heroic land of Quang Tri: "For Vietnam, Cuba is not only willing to sacrifice blood but also willing to sweat with the Vietnamese people to build the country ten times more beautiful as President Ho Chi Minh wished".
