Recently, the news that coach Park Chung-gun will no longer be with the Vietnamese shooting team has attracted the attention of domestic sports fans.
Mr. Park Chung Gun has made great contributions in helping Vietnamese shooting achieve many outstanding achievements in the past 10 years, culminating in Hoang Xuan Vinh's Olympic gold medal in Rio 2016. The Korean expert also confirmed that he will not continue to be associated with Vietnamese shooting, although he and the sports industry had previously discussed extending the contract.
On September 24, the Department of Sports and Physical Training had official shares related to this issue. The announcement of the Department of Sports and Physical Training stated: "According to the plan on September 24, 2024, at the Department of Sports and Physical Training, there will be a working session between the representative of the Department of Sports and Physical Training and Expert Park Chung Gun on negotiating and signing a contract and building a plan for the Vietnamese shooting team to win medals at the 2026 ASIAD and the 2028 Olympics. However, on September 17, 2024, expert Park Chung Gun sent an email announcing that he would not come to Vietnam as planned due to personal reasons."
According to information from the Department of Sports and Physical Training, this unit wishes to organize a ceremony to honor coach Park Chung Gun as soon as possible for his contributions to Vietnamese shooting.
Regarding the search for a new foreign expert, the Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Shooting Federation will review and evaluate before choosing a suitable coach in the near future.
