On the afternoon of May 8, the delegation attending the 2025 Vesak festival departed from the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City to Ba Den Mountain ( Tay Ninh ) to perform the ritual of welcoming the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni within the framework of the 2025 United Nations Vesak festival.

The delegation includes about 1,300 international delegates from more than 85 countries and territories such as: India, Bhutan, China, France, Germany, Nepal, Japan, Sri Lanka, UK, USA, Thailand... along with more than 800 domestic delegates from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and leaders of provinces, cities, ministries and branches.

The Buddha's relics were solemnly carried to Ba Den Mountain by senior monks of the Indian Buddhist Sangha, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, international Buddhist delegations, along with representatives of the Tay Ninh provincial government and leaders of the Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area.

The relics of Buddha Shakyamuni are the national treasure of India and were approved by the Indian government to be invited to Vietnam with important security and protocol principles through government-level diplomatic channels.

At the highest mountain peak in the South, Buddha's relics are enshrined at the Buddhist Exhibition Center from May 8 to 13, 2025 for Buddhists and the public to worship and pay homage.

After the ceremony to enshrine the Buddha's relics, the ceremony to plant 108 Bodhi trees was held at Bodhi Garden World on top of Ba Den Mountain with the participation of eminent monks and leaders of Buddhist delegations.
